Peppermint Matcha Latte Recipe

Embrace the holiday season with a Peppermint Matcha Latte. Grassy, umami matcha meets refreshing, cool peppermint in this festive treat-yourself drink!

Recipe (makes 1 serving)

Ingredients
Matcha Latte
1 tsp (2g) matcha powder
1/4 cup (60ml) water at 176F (80C)
1/4 cup (60ml) milk
1 tsp sugar

Peppermint Cream
1/8 cup heavy whipping cream
2 drops peppermint extract
1/2 tsp sugar
Candy cane bits to top

Instructions

1. Sift matcha powder into a bowl.

2. Soften the bamboo whisk by submerging it in hot water for 30 seconds before whisking.

3. Add water to the matcha powder. Whisk vigorously back and forth in a straight line until frothy and no clumps remain for about 30 seconds. 

4. In a glass or shaker, pour in the milk and 1 tsp of sugar.

5. Pour whisked matcha onto milk and mix/shake!

6. Whisk heavy whipping cream with the 2 drops of peppermint extract and 1/2 tsp of sugar to make the peppermint cream.

7. Pour matcha latte over ice in a pretty cup before topping with the peppermint cream.

8. Top with candy cane bits and enjoy!
